Activities Faire + Catering Event

An update on Prytanean happenings...

Last Wednesday (10/14) was the Activities Faire at Freeborn. Thanks to all who helped out!! There were a decent number of girls who came up to our table wondering who we are, what we do, etc. What's even more exciting is that many of them had received emails from us--meaning that their GPAs were high enough to qualify / alert them to the fact that we exist. So that's a good sign, and there's a high probability that many of our applicants will be from that particular pool...

Right around lunchtime, I snuck away from the student org festivities to make a quick trip to Richard of Catering's office and came away with a $211 check for last quarter's Mondavi event. YAYYY!!! I LOVE MONEY!!! And a girl serving at the Nourish lunch recognized my Prytanean shirt (the new one) and told me that she had been emailed. I ended up talking to all the servers there about applying. So these shirts really work!! Wash them and wear them repeatedly, please! Applications are due October 29--we still have time to get the word out!

Last Friday (10/16) Lauren M, Ava, Jamie R, and I worked a really fun 4-hour shift at--get this--a Sodexho catering event for a women's community in Davis (forgot the official name)! It was quite the coincidence, and I saw Sharon Rose and Marya Welch with a whole ARC ballroom full of important-looking ladies. Very inspiring, very neat. The catering itself is really cool too--prepping and perfecting the luncheon tables with silverware, centerpieces, plates full of delicious-looking food. I don't know about anyone else, but whole entire thing was a perfectionist's dream... making sure the dessert fork was laid out just right...

Definitely check your emails sporadically from now on since I'll hopefully be offering more and more of these catering events and whatnot in the future. They usually come at short notice, but it's worth it!

What else... Apparently we need more volunteers for tabling this week. Officers are going nuts over membership (nah, we're okay) and we'll be having an extra meeting to go over deets on a few very, very practical changes to the Constitution. Dun dun dun! It should go over well. :D

Always,

e
